Understanding User Roles on EzyCourse : It's Ezy!

Navigating the world of user roles on EzyCourse might look a bit daunting, but actually, it’s Ezy! When you hop onto the dashboard and peek under the "ALL USERS" menu item, you'll spot various site user types waiting to be set up. But what do they all mean? And what can they access?

We've broken down the different types of site users and their respective access levels to make things crystal clear for you.

Students:

Role: Think of students as our valued clients or customers.

How they enter the system:

  • Purchasing a product (e.g., course, digital download, event).

  • Setting up a site login.

  • Manual addition by an admin.

Access: Limited to the products they've purchased or been granted access to.

Developer:

Role: These are the tech-savvy individuals appointed to help with your site creation. (Note you don’t need a developer.)

How they enter the system: Manual addition by an admin.

Access: Limited to the website site builder functions. For example, they cannot create products.

Teachers:

Role: Typically, these would be educators or content creators appointed to guide and teach courses or assist with their creation.

How they enter the system: Manual addition by an admin.

Access:

  • Edit and access courses they're assigned to.

  • Create new courses and products.

(Note: Inform them if you don't want them creating new courses or other products.)

Revenue Partners:

Role: These are the teachers who get a slice of the pie from specific products.

Prerequisites: Must be a teacher and assigned to at least one product.

How they're set up: Select a teacher, assign a revenue percentage, and specify courses/products.

Site Administrators:

Role: The captains of the ship! They oversee everything on the site.

How they enter the system:

  • Site owner is automatically appointed as an admin

  • New admins are manually added by existing admins

Access: Full access to all site functions and features.

(Note: Appoint with caution due to their extensive permissions.)
